That's absolutely wild. The speeds offered by fixed wireless are no where near cable let alone a fiber connection. No way I'd take the downgrade unless there was no other option.

Which actually might be the reason for growth in fixed wireless. Traditional broadband has pretty shit reach. I live outside a major US city, and if you go more than say 5 min outside the suburbs and your options for Internet are non-existent.

T-Mobile can usually hit 100-200mbps where I am, and that's good for a lot of people. It can also be cheaper than wired, which seems to want to creep up every year.

The cable companies speeds are slow compared to what they advertise so anyone giving real speed will steal their customers quickly since they drop the speed but maintain the pricing basically screwing their customers, still under a MB download speed taking an hour to download a linux iso same as ten years ago.
