Intel also says that affected processors that aren't completely dead have a higher minimum operating voltage across multiple cores. We've asked Intel for further details on the implications of this.

This is the most useful information I've read in multiple places. I assume you can check the minimum voltage of a CPU and know that yours has been degraded and worth "ensuring" becomes eligible for a replacement.

They basically were uncapped before, which led to all their issues. They’ve finally started making bios updates to cap the voltage. I’m still on an i9-12900k and will probably go AMD for my next build
