I would wait for the cpu prices to come down and the sata 4 mobo's to come out personally. It's like putting a nascar on a gocart track. Save your cash till you can get a motherboard that will not be slowing down your cpu. Hell the new motherboards should be amazing when released for the CPU. I did upgrades years ago without changing the motherboard and I was disappointed. If you do both the performance jump will give a better rush than little jumps. I went from a single core 32bit to a quad core 64bit and it was like heaven when everything just screamed from the new speed.

I'm assuming the bios update fixes any compatibility and speed issues but I'll have to check. Like the x470 was right before the x570 and I think they built it anticipating the next upgrade.

I'd wait and save for 6 months. Getting it first you usually have to sit through the bug phase. Waiting you can then get the 16 core for much less and a better motherboard and have enough if you saved for 32gb of the ram that can make that chip fly faster. Waiting is good in tech, cheaper, bugs found and fixed, and you will find more tips on what combinations are most stable.
