what's the difference between this and a audio bug. they take sound, convert it to RF, traverse the medium and is then decoded via hetrodyne receiver.. This appears that it can be done from a remote location. they have been doing this for decades by amplifying minuscule vibrations from glass windows with laser. nothing really new here.

Pretty ingenious. And since it simply uses RF, that could likely be expanded to other frequencies as well. And simply be "an update" to say, wifi routers? phones? Certainly simplifies listening devices in general
