He is right, javascript is a terrible language. It's been garbage since day one. Which is actually why it became popular. It allows low quality developers to code and in many ways mask issues. It encourages poorly structured code in the same way perl does; with nearly equal levels of obfuscation. Typescript is simply a bandaid which allows masking of javascript's failures. It's a poor design in the same way the original c++ compilers actually pre processed into c and compiled the code as C. Dumb idea.
For decades now people have wanted a better javascript. It should have been replaced decades ago.
