This almost sounds like you got yourself a virus, if it came from a website that was not the manufacturer of the hardware then likely it's loaded to kill systems. It may look like the hardware website but the extension of the url is off or misspelled. I'd reload the OS, if it came with the OS you can hit a button at start like F11 or something and then wait for about 6 hrs for a hard drive likely far less for a solid state drive since the OS is on the drive itself so the solid state drive doesn't have a arm swinging madly for hours where solid state just transfers at high speed all the files needed extremely fast.
