This is a good article of a checklist of items for anyone who doesnt' know but wants to improve their digital security. he suggests a lot of software I wouldn't use, like protonmail, tutanota, etc being they are hosted services, but for someone who doesn't want to self-host thier own environment they are much better options that using gmail or office365.
