Somewhat surprising that microsoft doesn't implement forced whitelists on their native firewall. Might be smarter to add domains/IPs at the router/pi-hole level to be safe.

Should be able to block domains in hosts file.

Any hint on how one can control the in- and outgoing traffic? I suspect funny things on my computer

I vaguely recall reading that GlassWire, Portmaster, Wireshark, and a few other network monitors have that capability, but I'd be doubtful M$ has not circumvented them, since their corporate spyware is baked-in to the OS.
