The efficiency isn't important: cost and size is. If the energy is cheap and abundant (free solar), the conversion rate is unimportant.
I've actually placed my solar panels where they don't get optimal sun because I wanted them out of sight. So I had to double the number of panels i used to get enough power. At under $1 per watt, it's cheap enough to add more panels.

My experience had been every panel is ungodly expensive and if you can shave off 2 or 3 then it saves mucho bucks.
Each 370 watt panel costs me about $250. The real cost is installing and wiring. Copper wire is insane now.
Do you have a recommendation buying materials yourself? I looked at alibaba and, with shipping, came out to be pretty expensive
