It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. How hard is it to line up a battery with the little picture of a battery in the bottom of the holder? It's not hard.
I thought it was obvious you push the flat end against the spring, then slap the rest in.
I've seen devices that are backwards -- most commonly they have two batteries that need to be inserted the opposite of each other, but the ports are identical with just a label to distinguish them. Short of dumb shit like that, it's pretty easy. Some devices have no spring at all.
