It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. How hard is it to line up a battery with the little picture of a battery in the bottom of the holder? It's not hard.

I thought it was obvious you push the flat end against the spring, then slap the rest in.

I've seen devices that are backwards -- most commonly they have two batteries that need to be inserted the opposite of each other, but the ports are identical with just a label to distinguish them. Short of dumb shit like that, it's pretty easy. Some devices have no spring at all.

Yeah who has a problem loading batterie S? Reminds me of the infomercial with the people exploiding cardboard cartons all over themselves as they are just so complicated.

If they'd make the labels glo in the dark, I'd have no problem at all

you have to insert them in a particular way. Microsoft has fixed that last issue, but you can’t have its solution.

Or, you know, you could just not be retarded and take the time to learn what direction the batteries go in. I don't have this problem because I can read the symbols and insert batteries the correct way instead of just slamming them in there like some stone age nigger banging rocks together. We shouldn't be enabling stupid people any more than we already have.

I just think the solution is elegant in it's simplicity. I agree batteries aren't complicated business.

It actually looks complex and probably finicky about batteries and the tolerances of manufacture. I'd take standard battery compartments any day.

The biggest annoyance with batteries is that they discharge.

Sign of the times, we are stupid as shit

Wait a sec. the big problem is putting them in, in the correct direction? Who’s having this problem? There are signs or engravings on everything. And you get to cheat if there’s a spring for the contact.

I can even put my Xbox controller batteries in, in the dark, because I’ve memorized which goes where.

Considering most things come with non-replaceable batteries these days, is this really even a concern? It's not rocket science putting batteries in something.

[–] 2 pts

There's 2 things that non-removable/replaceable batteries ensure - 1, the device can always be on; 2, you are more likely to buy a new one when the battery fails (and it will fail).

You're just a stupid bird!

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, but even I can put batteries in the right way. It's chicken feed.

[–] 1 pt

What will you put them in with, your beak!?

[–] 0 pt

if you need this your IQ is under 50

Never once in my life has inserting batteries according to the polarity been an issue for me. Maybe the reason no one "solved" the problem is because no one was stupid enough to think it was a problem ... until now.

Seems like a couple of diodes would give the same results.

I think diodes would usually be a bad option since they would drop the voltage.
