Don't wait. Just go buy some solar panels now. They're plenty good now. They're free energy. I used panels. They're dirt cheap. They'll last the rest of your life at 80% of their power value. Just buy them and stop thinking about it. They don't need any more improvements to be practical for a regular person trying to have some extra power on their farm or their house or some other disconnected place. Or if you want to run a secret gorilla solar setup in your backyard where you just hook a window air conditioner to it to cut your power bills without anybody knowing then that's a great use as well. For God's sake whatever you do don't tie it to the grid because then they control your solar panels and there's absolutely no use in having them.
