They are working on making piracy as unenjoyable as possible. I replaced my trusty Panasonic Plasma with a Sony OLED because the plasma's main board is dying yet again and I finally gave in. HDMI is now all fucked up, what was just plug in your computer and get 60fps 4:4:4 color format is now fucking with settings. My Windows is now so fucked up I have to jump through hoops to get it to recognize my TV every time I start it up. So they made watching videos on my computer go from plugging in and dragging a window to jumping through hoops every time. They just want to break you down so you give in to the convenience of just turning on your TV, opening a streaming app, then getting bombarded with ads instead of fighting a bunch of broken shit.
Needless to say I'm gonna keep my plasma as a back up, buy another main board for it, and store it somewhere. I have a good feeling when this OLED dies in 5 to 10 years I won't be buying a single $75 part to fix it myself. Why the fuck technology is just getting worse and worse?
How about you stop watching so much TV, and get your fatass on the treadmill, fatty.
They will control everything we do, all the avenues of delivery, modes of manufacture, and content, and it will absolutely be weaponized and used against every one of us.

All I do is play Japanese video games and watch anime on it, and I set up a squid proxy to block all the privacy invading domains from the TV. Western TV is garbage except for Xavier Renegade Angel and maybe Venture Bros.
I'd never get an OLED. All the burn-in and aging issues, no thanks. Large computer monitor? Works for me.
