How are such 'emergency requests' legal in the first place if there is no due process? Isn't that a violation of the fourth amendment, to be secure in one's property and papers?

The constitution doesnt apply to private companies as per the government, hence why this shit happens. Not as if it maters, the govt hardly follows any laws to begin with

Companies are complicit as well. They could always push back and say come back with a court order. They don't do this. They specifically work with law enforcement and set up this "streamlined" process. It's supposed to be used only for matter of life and death, but it wouldn't surprise me if more and more requests become a "matter of life and death". Cops can ask for your data without a warrant and get it, so why would they even bother going through the trouble of getting a court order?

It's not and they don't care. Courts simply refuse to hear the cases which would prove it unconstitutional. Therefore since they haven't been ruled unconstitutional since the courts won't even hear the cases to judge whether they are they aren't found unconstitutional, yet or ever.
