This has been going on for much longer than now. First nvidia card i ever bought was a top of the line ti4600 for the whopping price of $400 in 2000/2001.

Well i bought tbe first Geforce for I think 200. Anyways. If AMD us able to make more GPUs yhey are permitted. Same for Intel and Apple and whoever owns PowerVR now. They may be afraid of overinvesting. They may be investing. But those are market forces. The telling is markets will not sustain a shortage forever. If there is a swing back to oversupply as the economy crsshes now it wasn't anticompetitive behavior. Just long term thinking
