Not really. That simply made us more efficient. This changes everything from currency to labor markets in profound ways.

How many jobs depend on fossil fuel production? How much of your income pays for energy? Our entire economic system depends on the petrodollar. All digital currencies do too. It is profoundly bigger than transition to fossil fuels.

Our entire economy was supported by horse from plowing to basic transportation on land until the steam engine. Even wars ran on horse power unless it was by sea. Those whose livelihood is disrupted always resist change.
