You are just hindering innovation and giving a group of non-tech people control over tech.
The Lightning cable was the basis of USB-C connector design.

Cuz clearly the government should decide what is the best connector.
They said if better technology comes along that's fine.
That doesn't mean they will be able to pick the best one.
The Lightning cable is the basis for USB-C, that is why USB is now dual insertable. Apple was part of that design for USB-C. The EU didn't come up with that design, nor they ever make a recommendation for solving the USB connector problem.
There is no reason for this regulation. How about they regulate the niggers coming in first, that would reduce a lot more waste.
