get a flash/hard drive, use rufus or a mounting software to mount an ISO image of the OS, tails/qubes whatever, then boot from the flash/hard drive.
done. you can partition your current drive but that's "more complicated" since peoples drives can be messy or full. often times filesystems interfere or soemthing
