Honestly, the CPU shortage will not noticeably effect the average user that much. The only noticeable upgrade in preformince has been with the server chips.
AMD is more innovative and has better performance but leas stable. They are going to have to improve that to gain more traction with their server chip business.
Its the GPU 'shortage' that sucks and thats because all the chips are being hoarded by big business so they can run their centralized ai as a service shit. The chipmakers obviously are experiencing supply chain issues as well, but they also realized consumers are willing to pay fucking 3.5 grand for a high end GPU. They will be keeping this 'shortage' on for as long as they can.
