Chromebooks install new version in minutes, even on Celeron powered machines. Windows, even the newer "lighter" versions, can take hours. School IT workers, usually one, don't have the time to clean out viruses and fix the numerous glitches. Chromebooks can be reset in minutes and, after login, everything is back where it was. I don't see Microsoft ever gaining back the education market in the USA due to 30 years of dried crust in Windows. Our computer shop has some younger customers that do not even own a Windows machine. They use their tried and true Chromebooks for typing intensive tasks and their smartphones for everything else. Windows in no longer needed by many consumers.
