So pretend I'm a retard (it won't take too much imagination), what do? Which messaging apps are fully, semi-automatic, end-to-end encrypted?

Besides Element and the other thing Luke mentioned, I'm unsure. I've heard of Signal, WhatsApp, Tox, and Wire, but I never used them or looked too much into them. Maybe one of them could helpful.
