Did you watch the video or just get upset by the title?

Good lord dude, I was sincerely thanking you for sharing that information. I never used telegram, but knowing now how it's compromised, I never will. And like you, I'll advise other people not to use it. Damn, is everyone in the world now so jaded that you can't express thank's for sharing relevant information that might keep people safe? I've been on this site long enough to prove my character and my stand on things. I won't leave any more comments on your posts. My intentions were good, and I'm always grateful for the information that is shared on this site.

That reply was to . I appreciate your thanks though I didn't respond since I figured an upvote was an equivalent to "you're welcome, dear" though a verbal response is better. I mean no negativity towards you, dear.

Thank's for clearing that up for me. I always liked your posts, and being on this site as long as I've been, I was surprised that someone like you, another 'old timer', would misinterpret my intentions. If you look at my past comments, it's not unusual for me to thank someone for a good post :)

knowing now how it's compromised

The video never says it's compromised. He argues that the encryption is rudimentary and that it doesn't use end-to-end encryption by default, allowing the company to see the content - All fair points. But that's a long way to go to "compromised". Some would argue the opposite, that the Telegram servers aren't compromised because the owner would rather leave Russia and have the app blocked in his home country rather than allow any government backdoor access.

I'll advise other people not to use it.

Up to you, but then I'd ask you to present a realistic alternative to people - Or else you're probably leaving them hanging on to way worse services.

Yeah, the word compromised was probably not the best choice of words. What I was getting at is that there are other sites more secure than that one. For example the one suggested, which was XMPP.
