“You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy”

They weren’t kidding.

You mean: "You'll own nothing and they will be happy" , right ?

Yes yes, sarcasting, but this is the true meaning, the other is a lie.

Of course, no one actually believes this lie.

I know a person who sold $30k/mo on FB marketplace until FB banned them for "violating community standards". No idea what he did wrong. A lot of people here are isolationists, in that they want to run away from or kill rather than participate in society. But society will move on without you, and your children will be naive from isolation. So I'm not going to say he's a dumbass for buying $24k from apple. He's no dumber than society as a whole and if he wants to spend is worthless ameribucks on crap then it's none of my business. But tech companies ruling over people, seizing their property, canceling their accounts without recourse, while wielding their money and power for politics, is a problem. I hope he wins all 2+ trillion apple is worth.

zogbots still think anyone but kikes is the reason we live like this.

Buying and selling actual stuff through FB is fine.

This guy wasn't trading anything real, he was buying access to media, apps and services.

When you buy real estate, what are you really buying?

Remember kids, a little DRM never hurt anyone....

Hey whats this bit of cheese doing sitting out here in the open on this spring contraption?

Its called a TRAP. Oh how we railed when this began, so many years ago, and everyone who listened, sits beside us now in no-mans land, trading opinions in the dark. We knew the normie would never listen and now here we are, normies in tears over what has been "done to them" by their own naivety.

I walked away from Apple the moment iTunes required an account and to upload all your media through it in order to play it. That was a huge line cross for me. ITS MY MEDIA YOU CALIFORNIA FUCKS.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

I did not know this.

I used to try to use iTunes once a year for a test to see if it would crash or fail to import my music, and it always crashed after a few hundred thousand songs, then I think i tried it a final time a final year with nearly a million songs, which is not actually a lot, and it failed. So I never again tried to use Apple iTunes on mac nor windows for anything , ever. Its a toy for people with small music collections. Apple in the news, once, put a limit of 25,000 free up-conversions , so Apple considers 25,000 to be excessive I guess. Upconversions are when apple takes your 128 kbps 32 frequency bin MP3 files, and graciously deletes them and replaces them with better non-drm MP4 files using 48 frequency bins and better stereo, but if the song was uncensored version of rap music... Apple deletes it and replaces it with "radio friendly" censored version without your consent... forever. (I am not kidding, do a news search).

iTunes can go fuck itself.

Apple did not even write iTunes. They bought it from "Sound Jam" and just renamed it.

ITunes song limit in 2018 is a pitiful 100,000 maximum!:

bwah hah hah hah hah!! I had over a million DECADES ago, and iTunes still cannot even list 100,000!!!! comical!

24k worth of content licenses.

[–] 0 pt

Worth is the wrong word. The licenses aren't worth anything. I'm sure the ToS explains that, but even if it doesn't: if you can't sell something to another person for money then it has no value.

Apple did something, but there has to be a better way to formulate the complaint (than the way the article puts it; no idea about lawsuit)

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, that was the point, licenses are garbage. Just an agreement. He never had the media in the first place. If he did, only fire, theft, or deletion off his hard drive would make him lose it. Lesson learned?

[–] 0 pt

Licenses are not entirely garbage. They grant you a license to use something. Apple is a turd for saying that they can revoke the license without reason at any time. Licenses can be less ridiculous than what Apple offers, but at the same time, creators are not going to offer you ownership of content for 5 dollars. Even if you had the media, a license could be revoked to the extent that an enforceable contract between you want the licensor says so. I think the question here is whether Apple's contract, which offers nothing definitive to the licensee, is valid.
