Repercussions are a bitch.

Semiconductor fabrication does not need to be done abroad anymore. I used to contract for Intel, Motorola, Lattice, Zilog so I've seen modern semiconductor fabrication. It's all automated. The wafers are all fabricated automatically, testing is automated. I mean, seriously, there's very little human labor involved. Add the international shipping delays, I don't understand why we continue to use China to fabricate our silicone.

I know, I work around that industry as well. It's sad to see all of our fab in a country that's just selling us stuff because it's convenient for them.

It's frightening how easy it is to add extra stuff to chips these days. They operate at such a high level that it can easily monitor packets etc. and send them elsewhere. With so many system-on-a-chip arrangements, they control the entire design so it's easy for it to use all the resources of the system, invisibly.

It is, especially in something that has any kind of processing power.

Fake parts are big business in China. It's almost impossible to tell in some cases, and they may even work for a while before blowing apart.

But manufactured in America it's safe? L-O-L

It's easier to control the supply chain here. It doesn't mean that it's any safer.

Probably more dangerous with all the kikes in America

It's at least easier to audit a supplier here, but you're right. That means little to nothing with all of the happy merchants in industry.
