My LG V20 was a hell of a phone, and one of the last ones available with an IR blaster, removable battery, and headphone jack. I'm getting real sick of phones removing features but being touted as upgrades.

And an amazing camera when you load the modded version of GCam 5. Also can do great stereo recording with the unprocessed setting in some recorder apps. Mine will become inoperative as a cellphone this year when Sprint ends their network.

Apple caused that shutdown.

Apple made batteries non-removable : nearly EVERY smartphone company copied apple. Apple eliminated physical keyboards : nearly EVERY smartphone company copied apple. Apple eliminated headphone jack : nearly EVERY smartphone company copied apple. Apple eliminated IR emission (a feature first in PalmOS) : nearly EVERY smartphone company copied apple. Apple eliminated most if not all physical buttons : nearly EVERY smartphone company copied apple. Apple added standard full web browser in January 2007 : EVERY smartphone company copied apple.

Apple products killed countless multibillion dollar companies using better Apple products that MOST PEOPLE LIKED :

  • Nokia
  • Blackberry
  • Palm
  • HP handhelds
  • Netbooks! (Eee PC, etc)
  • HTC
  • the first two microsoft phones
  • Motorola cell phones

etc. etc.

Apple makes stuff that just does not suck and respects users, and ends up the worlds largest corporation, with its stock now over 2 trillion market cap , and by end of 2021 3 trillion dollar company. And Apple owns huge amounts of its own stock.

Apple iPhone marketshare continues to grow forever , even in 2020! : https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/03/03/apple-iphone-marketshare-growing-amidst-contracting-global-market

Apple computer marketshare continues to grow too.

Shame. Double tap to wake and rear buttons were, at least to me, game changers.

I still fail to understand how you don't make money with triple digit markups.

I seem to remember their flagships having problems. The T-Mo boards were full of people that had multiple replacements and still didn't get a working device.

Happened to my G4, but only once after a bit over a year of ownership. Was out of warranty so I upgraded to a V20. That one still works.

Had many issues with a Samsung, though.

I loved my LG Optima Pro G . Best phone I ever had . Optimus , not Optima .

My first smartphone was an optimus g2x. Most durable phone I ever owned. Still have it; it technically still works. You'd hate using it, now— but it works.

I like lg phones. Unless the fabs are asking companies to drop units so they an keep up with demand for things like cars.

The wife had a V20 and (V30 or V40 - I don't remember) and loved them both.

Then she went to the darkside :-(
