Why? We have the best heat shield material in the world, and we classified it so nobody else can have it. Its called starlite. Strong enough to resist nukes from what I hear. Currently used in alot of mil stuff. f16 afterburner assemblies, chobham.. Curiously enough: they wont armor personnel or personnel equipt.. Stops .50 cal at 10 yards at 1/2" thickness, and its quite light. Perfect body armor.
