All manners of surveillance oughta be stopped, period. I mean if the FBI is a good enough organization, they would not need to read people’s messages. That’s not respectful and if you have to violate the boundaries of autonomy and respect to do your job, then you don’t have legitimacy to begin with and it’s like not doing your job at all, thus no better than what criminal scum do.
