Where logic prevails, there is differentiation in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of individuals by their characteristics, but fear is not a part of logic. It's because the emotional undertone of the word is implied when discussed. The words themselves without any emotional element just mean to be having preference for something superior, as anything in the world can be put in stratification. Of course, it's hard to completely separate the logic and emotion in language, hence the confusion.
