Even then all three branches dont have to agree together, the support of the public only makes it easier to carry out,duh - it's absolutely not a conclusive factor the govt follows, the public didn't want to go to war in Irak, the public were against the govt arming isis/ rebel moderates, the public were against the whole-sale militarisation of law enforcement, the public are against asset forfeiture. There was never any public opinion asked on mass immigration, the public are against that. Edit: If you were halfway honest, you would have answered the questions when I first asked them, as they are central to what's been talked about. If public opinion matters so much why does Govt continue to pass legislation and enact laws like I previously mentioned that the public are overwhelmingly against?? That shows that while public opinion may be important to help make things easier to accomplish it's by no means necessary for the Govt to always have it if they are set on a particular political direction or agenda.
