''With completely decentralized and anonymous system, no one can be silenced, removed, blocked, or deleted. Everything is on record and permanent. So, be careful what you say and do!
I created this opensource MIT project in college years ago, but it is needed now more than ever:
https://github.com/Metric/pweet - for node code
https://github.com/Metric/pweetsite - for UI code
I tried advertising it years ago on reddit, but people scoffed and said federated was the way to go. I beg to differ at this point.
Spread the word to others and other developers! Now is the time to take action, don't let any one person control your messages on the social sphere.
It will require quite a few other web developers around the world to make this see the light of day, but it is entirely possible!
The code is there and has been tested with a single node. I have not setup a public node. It can also be used in private if you want. However, it probably needs further testing. As nothing is fully bug free.
It uses public/private keys for everything. You own your key, and are responsible for it!''
