Actually, GPD (gpd.hk) makes these handheld "laptops", some of them have a lot of I/O.

Problem is the terrible Intel chips they use. The Celeron series chips they use have fewer cores and/or threads than the embeded chip in something like the UDOO Bolt Gear (udoo.org). Which uses a chip that is quite old to begin with.

Comparisons to the embeded ryzen 1605b to some of the chips in the GPD pocket PCs.

I agree that my best bet is to wait for these chinese knock-off companies to make a good pocket pc for my needs, but it hasn't happened yet. I will just have to patiently wait for the global supply shortage to die down before I have a chance to buy one.

The 1605b is a 15W chip while the Intel is 6W, I don't think AMD has anything in the pipeline for that kind of TDP.

Valid point, but I'll take the extra TDP for the performance gains. I've used [intel] those chips in other devices. They are absolutely terrible.
