I could not connect to files.catbox.moe, and haven't been able to for a few days (including pico), which meant that a lot of the content that's hosted there and linked to from poal, would not show for me.

I pinged the websites and got a reply back from localhost. I then logged in to my pihole, checked the first file on the adlist that I've added (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/hosts), and saw that files.catbox.moe has been redirected to 0.0.0.0.

Just wanted to let anyone and everyone that uses pihole to know.

that probably means they are hosting malware, supposedly that should be checked on upload, maybe the don't properly

it is not just image hosting, so that is to be expected

I haven't used that website to upload content myself, but a lot of links that are on here, either is hosted on files.catbox.moe, or redirected to it, and a couple of days ago I started to notice that I was unable to connect, however when I clicked to view the comments on said link, none of the comments were about the content not loading. After that I started suspecting it might be on my side. Just now I got annoyed enough about it to look in to it :)

i believe it is used by pic8 among others, but you can use it directly for movie files as well

Yeah, I find that some lefties must be maintaining some of the common block lists since a lot of right wing or fringe news sites and imaging hosting sites are blocked and so you have to wildcard whitelist them.

Wonder what sort of malicious files (((people))) are uploading. PDFs?

Add files.catbox.moe to whitelist.
