The Poll Pad software runs on consumer-off-the-shelf (COTS) Apple iPad tablets.

So it used it's wifi chip to hack into the wifi chip the voting machine doesn't have. That's what we were told. No wifi card. Article seems intellectually dishonest.

Assuming it's only "blue tooth", well I can use bluetooth to access another devices wifi. It's almost like it shouldn't be transmitting anything on an airwave or something. Being an "off the shelf" ipad then it has a wifi card it could use to connect to the internet. My voting location was at a school. They have a wifi network as do most places. Do people believe a bluetooth connection is capable of transmitting music but not simple text?
