I'm in the same position, forced to pay Comcast because of monopoly agreements they signed years before I even moved here.
I fucking hate them. The retarded street shitting Indians they use for support are the WORST! I was trying to tell the fucker on the phone that he could fix my problem on the phone and he insisted I didn't know what I was talking about and had a guy sent out. When you get someone in the US it's like night and fucking day though, even when you still can't understand what they are saying.
You know what the comcast guy said when he showed up? "Oh, why didn't they do that on the phone? All I'm going to do is call the office and it will be done."
I knew that. He knew that. Comcast sure as fuck knew it. But not their support.
yea they are a total nightmare to deal with in every way. i bought my own modem and tried to return theirs and they wouldn't let me. the lady at the comcast place refused to take it back i left it there on the counter and took a picture of it sitting there and sure as shit they were telling me 6 months later that i never returned it and they were missing their equipment and i still had it. i talked to 5 different people trying to get them to remove the lease fees for the past 6 months and they all claim they cant. i just kept calling them finally i talked to a person that removed the charges for me but wow what an ordeal. with them you have to just pray everything stays working after you finally get over the initial battle of getting your own modem installed and getting your internet up and running.
