So with everyone relying on the good ole cellphone, and landlines used very little. Has anyone considered GMRS radios? A $70 dollar ten year license to operate on that frequency. As well as CB radio is great too. A thought for emergency uses.

Agree with Intrinsic, get your ham license. DMR radios are fairly cheap.
