Ugh. As a former factory appliance board tech, things like that make me want to grab my hammer and smash the abomination.

I had to search for a microwave that still had a simple dial for both the power level and cook time.

LOL there's a fucking "popcorn" button on it!

My microwave has a popcorn button, but it only works for some name brand popcorn bags.

Meh, I make my own popcorn with bacon bits and butter.

Yeah, there's typically a piss-poor humidity sensor in there that tried to detect levels of moisture in the cavity. They used to be a small sponge and a heater, the heater would burn off the moisture and the sponge would pick it back up and change the resistance level presented to the microcontroller. Only certain brands worked because they had known moisture levels.

It was a hokey system at best. Just get a $15 air popper and make all the popped corns you want. It's better for you and you can add whatever you want to it.

I still have my Amana RadarRange. Two, in fact. As a left-hander, it's the only thing that works for me. One in case the electronics give out.
