I think you could go for 2x8 on the dual ram

The guy in the vid does that but with 2x4 instead, so I guess this is doable with a 2x8, he just happens to not have a set of 2 8GB

That'd be alright then. 2x16 would be ideal for shared memory. Ultimate car computer.
