Yeah, it's "pre-finished" trim, usually made out of sawdust board or foam, then covered with vinyl that looks like wood.
The "premium" homebuilders around me use it in some of their middle-grade houses because it's cheap n ezy.

Jeez; I was kind of hoping I'd have the place sorted in another 5 years, which will be a decade for us with this house... that'll probably be close enough, at least; we'll shine it up, get a mil or so for it, and buy a slightly better shanty [or more likely move somewhere civilised and live like royalty! ...if we live that long, of course].
