I feel your pain, still finding WTFs here - 20 years later.
Jeez; I was kind of hoping I'd have the place sorted in another 5 years, which will be a decade for us with this house... that'll probably be close enough, at least; we'll shine it up, get a mil or so for it, and buy a slightly better shanty [or more likely move somewhere civilised and live like royalty! ...if we live that long, of course]. Commies might just murder us at any second, the way things are going these days. HONK HONK!
Don't take my long term project as an example...this place is fully paid for and if something doesn't get done then no worries are shed over it. I just do stuff when I can, or when I get a wild notion to change something.
If I have to flee then I grab the hard drives with the evidence and torch the rest.
I used to keep the boat fully provisioned and have our ditch bags all good to go. Then mother-in-law moved in, and now everything is all mother-in-law-ized.
She's great, but she's a real monkeywrench in my plans.
But I digress.
