So, Tesla is suign the cheapest solid state storage they can, eMMC. They need to switch to the more costly but ten times longer lasting SLC SSD's, and with a much larger storage capacity so dying cell data can be moved to a fresher one. This is stupid planning at its finest, just to save ten bucks.

That's how businesses work.

They just have to take it to the Tesla dealer and wait 3 yrs for the replacement part.

The oldest Teslas are approaching 10 years now, right? That's fantastic. Yeah consumerism because it will be easier for them to just replace instead of repairing them!

So much for being better for the environment...
