I saw that people were getting called out for shilling stories from the same news sites. I didn't want to be seen as flooding the board with Russia stories from my favorite sites.

But you didn't have a problem doing so in the past month to get ownership of the sub.

About this sub

How to be eligible for a request?

You must be level 6 and up
You must have been an active user in the requested sub for more than 1 month.

Which subs are eligible?

Only subs created by users
(default subs aren't)
Subs where owners and all mod accounts have been MIA for at least 3 months.
Abandoned subs with a red "You can claim this sub" in the sidebar.

Notice:

Being eligible doesn't mean a request will be automatically granted and admins reserve the right to reject a request for an undisclosed reason not mentioned in these rules.
If owners/mods are active, your request will automatically be rejected. (contact the mods if you want to join a sub mod team)
