Sometimes I see a sub with no active owner/mods and I think "I know the perfect user!" For instance, I know someone almost overqualified with gayness to run /s/LGBT.

Afraid I'm going to have to oppose this motion on the grounds that it opens the door to the path to the gateway beyond which lies the possibility, however faint, that I may become stuck moderating a forum again.

For instance, if we were to assume that such a scheme was implemented, what stops an enterprising troll from showing up and trolling everyone by having his Russian robot friends mass-nominate someone and thus drop a forum on their head? It will be complete chaos and you'll have people jacking forums the way people used to jack IRC channels back when people were better people and used IRC. There will be anarchy, violence, a pervading air of tension, and it will be very uncomfortable for most of the people involved.

I'd hate to have to moderate a forum, spending my days banning python apologists and growing steadily drunker and more angry until the servers halt and catch fire.

How can you oppose an idea and sell it to me? You're sending mixed signals, dear.
