Hard plastic bristles will not harm your enamel. That's what dentists tell you so you need their services more often. Tooth enamel scores 5 on the Mohs scale. That's harder than gold, copper or iron. https://www.healthline.com/health/hardest-substance-in-the-human-body Do you want to keep your teeth? Stop drinking all carbonated beverages, including beer. Minimize sugar consumption. Rinse your mouth daily with hydrogen peroxide. Kill the bacteria that makes your mouth acidic, eliminate bad breath, & whiten your teeth. (Pro tip: it'll hurt like hell until your mouth is infection-free) Periodontal disease is a primary cause of heart disease. https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/gum-disease-and-heart-disease-the-common-thread#:~:text=People%20with%20gum%20disease%20%28also%20known%20as%20periodontal,But%20there%20may%20not%20be%20a%20direct%20connection.

I haven't drank soda in 20 years. I don't really drink beer that much either. I do have tea with lemon in it though and I know lemons acidic. The dentists are almost as dastardly as chiropractors when it comes to you medical stuff. I've been ripped off by both.

Yep. Dentists and auto mechanics are a lot alike.

Yeah auto mechanics are the devil. One of the only services that I absolutely think should be regulated and are not.

It will hurt like hell until all the pain receptors in your mouth are dead.

I've been taking my own advice for more than 30 years. My pain receptors are doing fine.

A water flosser instead of a toothbrush. You can get brush heads for the water flosser if you want to have the best of both worlds.

Soft. Hard ruins your teeth. Medium ruins your teeth slower.

I feel the soft bristles don't get all the schmutz off. And they wear down so fast mediums are okay but they only last a little bit longer. So I figured I'd try the hard ones to try to get some of that calculus. When you say they wear the teeth out, what does it wear out?

[–] 1 pt

Schmutz is a jew word.

I was going to apologize for my use of jewish. But I figured Anticlutch would have already commented on it. They must be taking today off.

It wears out the enamel.

Didn't you already respond to this?
