Like during the dot-com boom there some ISPs that provided free dial up internet in exchange for displaying a banner ad on your screen. I worked feverishly to reverse engineer them, and publish instructions on how to disable the ads. But the people who could just be chill about the ads had a more efficient Zen going for them.
