I don't know if explosive collars would be better than shooting. You could hold the ship hostage if you could trigger a bomb by the outer hull, isis style.

I meant "explosive" metaphorically (or other)...you know STUN/KILL collars...(electrical or drug). Probably drug because charging problems.

Oh yeah, that'd be a better idea. But maybe make it a bracelet or wrist watch or something, I think the collar would be a bit disconcerting.
