Microsoft could not stand to let Nintendo be the one to crash the video game market (at least consoles anyway) so had to join in. I wonder what stupid thing Sony will do to raise the stakes in this game of stupid.

Wait, hold up—so now I get to pay double the price for the honor of being rewarded with digital scraps I didn’t ask for? Sign me right the hell up! This is the kind of next-gen innovation that really sets Microsoft apart—boldly monetizing mediocrity.

Clearly, Microsoft took one look at Nintendo fumbling around with their online services and said, “Hold my beer, we can fuckup the console market too—watch this.” At this point, it’s less of a subscription and more of a slow-motion money fire.

Yea, can’t wait to see what galaxy-brain move Sony pulls to one-up this. Maybe they’ll start charging for uninstalling games or introduce a tiered breathing system for PS5 users. The bar’s in hell, but somehow everyone’s still digging.
