When I saw this Techmoan video a few days ago, I new it was a scam and that the (((inventor))) was a funny hat guy, but the 36 degree angle has some backing to it. Though it doesn't do shit to improve the quality of the audio on the disk, the use of a 36 degree angle is based on the Brewster's Angle for polycarbonate.
Brewster's angle (also known as the polarization angle) is an angle of incidence at which light with a particular polarization is perfectly transmitted through a transparent dielectric surface, with no reflection.
By using the Brewster's Angle for polycarbonate, internally reflected 980 nm laser light from a CD player could exit the outside edge without internal retroreflection. This is sound optical physics, but it does nothing to change the operation of the CD player. Any internally reflected/refracted IR light in the disk medium would not escape at any angle to the IR receiver sensor that could cause it to misread or require error correction because of the refraction index of polycarbonate being rather significant when interfacing to the air surrounding the disk. It's total bullshit scam material, but the Brewster's Angle is actually doing something even though it does not relate to the claimed benefits/
TL;DR: The 36 degrees angle is called the Brewster's Angle. It let's light escape. It doesn't do shit for what is claimed by the (((inventor))). Don't bother with it.
Finally, some goddamned science around here.
Must be another cohencidence. They love the number 3 and 6.
They love the number 3 and 6.
I get it. Physics doesn't doesn't care what meaning anyone applies to certain combinations of numbers. It just does what it does.
