I thought The Bee was supposed to be satire. I've read that exact argument for years now in legacy media and even in "serious" scientific journals.
It's similar to the climate crazies. Some new or unexplained phenomena is observed and it is immediately concluded that this must be either caused or exacerbated by "muh climate change".
These are the scriptures of the church of Scientism. A blind (blinkered) faith in The Science, whose remedy is always to cede more power to them.
