It's deeper than that. Humans are geared at an emotional level to assess things in binaries. Most of our fancy complex politics boils down to "who is my tribe" and "who is their enemy." Unfortunately we let jews tell all of our stories, so the only options we have anymore are "jews/israelis" vs. "muslims/nazis." Even the people who break their programming are usually stuck with that worldview so they just switch the categories.
