You are confused. I only switched it into read only mode because the VPS it is hosted on ran out of space and it took Boobs a little more than a couple weeks to find a cheap extra storage. Vid8 has now plenty and runs even faster than before since its host moved it to another node on our request. So call it shitty if you want, but explain how several users were able to post hour long videos hours after upload came back.
